After the first prototype mounting based on target users interview (https://viibus.viisolutions.com.br/en/interview-with-the-visually-impaired-people), Douglas Toledo chose again the CIAPD – Interdisciplinary Center of Attention to People with Disabilities at PUC-Campinas (Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas) for an accessible transport prototype demonstration with visual impairment people.
The purpose of the demonstration was to verify whether the previously identified problems could be reduced or even mitigated with the prototype usage. It also verified the simplicity of use and possible project improvements.
The CIAPD invited for prototype demonstration Mr. Adair Silva, who acquired visual impairment throughout life and the young Mr. Leonardo Campos that has disability from birth and conducted the initial idea interview that can be found in the previous posts.
In the opinion of Mr. Adair, the prototype demonstration was excellent, all Braille transcriptions and voice messages were understandable and the bus embark was simulated successfully. The prototype proved an easy to use and for him there were no improvements proposals.
In the opinion of Mr. Leonardo, the accessible transport prototype demonstration was simple and intuitive, all process steps were simulated without difficulties. For him the voice notifications was the best of the prototype usability feature. A bus embark was also simulated successful. During our conversation Mr. Leonardo asked us: ” – If there were two or more buses at the same bus stop and the system notified me that is my embark time. How do I know the correct bus to embark? Why not add a line sound indicator on the buses doors to guide me?”
